I have been focusing less on index sites, because the Virtual Library (Bad link or server down too often??)and University of Pennsylvania has a good list. And here is a great Philosophy collection.
Since many of my links bypass many title pages and go straight to document sites good to know about copyright information
I may quit this project if Studyweb really gives all research quallity results in their search queries. Or you can continue to come here my hand picked favorites.

The New York Times is currently free athough signing up will take a momnet. They seem to keep only about the previous 2 weeks archived for free users.
Though I don't wish to promote ChristianScience, the Christian
Science Monitor has a great searchable
archive for international news. They're free area seems to only allow
the daily paper and archive searches for articles older than 3 months

I once made fun of Project Guttenburg for the unusable ftp site it once was. Now it is much improved and includes a search ability. I am happy to retract my comments and glad to see it move towards it's potential.

Arthur Hu's Index ofDiversity Piles of stats on policly controversial issues. It is mostlya list of figures summarized and commentary and analysis by Mr Hu. He isoften witty and sarcastic. Few of the full text's of the text he makesreferences are available online (because he needs a server that offershim more memory) but available by e-mail (just a few per person)
